Mode Mixture (also known as Modal Interchange) is to "borrow" Chords from a Parallel Key (i.e.: same Tonic, different Scale or Mode). It is a specific type of Chord Substitution. Underlined Chords correspond to the Chord which gives that Mode its characteristic sound, distinct from Major (or Ionian) and Minor (or Aeolian). [The "-" is included after the v Chords to emphasize that they are minor.]
