Peace and Quiet (06/19/2020)

In the silence, one is alone with their own thoughts and feelings. Sometimes people create "noise" around themselves so that they don't have to hear what is going on inside. It might be uncomfortable, so rather than confront it, they mask it in some way.

But there is nothing to be afraid of. Like little children vying for the attention of a parent, our thoughts and feelings might seem like they are "all over the place" until we put our attention on them. When fully acknowledged, they become calm and can be redirected towards something constructive.

One's inner life should be pleasant, not filled with turmoil.
