A brief reference within an obscure therapy book. That is how I first heard of Holodynamics long ago. I wanted to learn more, so I bought a paperback copy of this book directly from the author when I was in my early teens. I was so excited to receive it that I devoured it the very night that it was shipped to my door. It was such an intriguing mix of science, psychology, and spirituality that I resolved to eventually get Vern's other books.

Over the years, I've seen several people disregard Holodynamics as a whole by labelling it simply as "quantum mysticism," but there are many ideas here that I think are worthwhile, even if one disagrees with the physics theories behind the psychological techniques. I've also seen some people interpret it as a kind of "cash grab" due to the expensive training and course materials. That is harder to argue with. I can totally understand that. I will admit that it is a bit reminiscent of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), a large dose of clever self-help ideas couched within a technical jargon that straddles the boundary between clinical therapy and corporate training seminar. One could point out similar problems with those two domains in general, clinical therapy and corporate training, so it doesn't really surprise me.

Despite all of this, I shall continue with a relatively short explanation of what Holodynamics is, and pepper in a few personal comments on what about it I think is useful. Keep in mind that I am not "certified" within their Academy, nor do I have any affiliation with it.

If you only read one book about this subject, I humbly suggest that you make it this one. There are several important updates given within its more modern cousin, The Dance of Life (2004), but this book presents the most straightforward and practical explanation of the fundamentals in my opinion.
